VOLUNTEERS

Our Maritime History Needs You!

Calling All History Buffs and Boat Lovers - Help Restore the scow Success! The historic scow Success, built in 1925, is undergoing a full restoration led by our Trust in Kaiapoi. This unique flat-bottomed sailing barge played an important role in the region's history as a cargo transport vessel. Now the Trust aims to restore her former glory.

They need your help! Join the passionate team of volunteers putting in hours of work to preserve this special piece of maritime heritage. Tasks include repairing and refinishing woodwork, painting, rigging, and more. No experience is necessary - just a willingness to learn and get your hands dirty.

By volunteering on the Success, you'll be part of bringing vital history to life. You'll gain cool new skills and insight into traditional boatbuilding. And you'll join a fun community of history buffs and boat enthusiasts.
Let's ensure the Success can retell her story for generations to come!
